DESCRIPTION:This presentation will explore the critical role of early intervention in the assessment and treatment of children with developmental and behavioral issues. It will provide a comprehensive approach, including psychological services and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, to manage problematic behaviors arising from both neurodevelopmental and non-neurodevelopmental disorders. The discussion will cover the importance of diagnosing versus treating functional impairment symptoms, the concept of neurodiversity, and the unique strengths and challenges of each child. Guidance on selecting appropriate psychological and ABA therapy providers will also be provided.
