Education & Support Specialist

Jennifer Gordillo is an Educational Support Specialist at Parent to Parent of Miami. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she brings both personal and professional experience to her role—anchored in a deep commitment to supporting families and promoting inclusive education.

She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus on Child Psychology at Florida International University, with minors in Early Childhood Education and Pediatric Nursing. Her academic and professional journey is rooted in a lifelong passion for child development, family advocacy, and compassionate communication. She believes every child, whether verbal or non-verbal, has a voice that deserves to be heard and valued.

As a proud mother and auntie, she understands the importance of being present, informed, and empowered in every stage of a child’s life. Her personal experiences has taught her that families thrive when they are supported with knowledge, encouragement, and empathy. Her nephew’s journey with special needs played a meaningful role in guiding her to Parent to Parent of Miami, where she found her calling to support other families walking similar paths.

Her background includes volunteer experience in both educational and healthcare settings, including work in kindergarten classrooms and in a pediatric intensive care unit. These experiences strengthened her understanding of children’s emotional, cognitive, and social needs and reinforced her commitment to inclusive, heart-centered care.

Jennifer is bilingual in Spanish and English, and passionate about learning new languages to strengthen communication and connection with the families she serves. She is currently studying Portuguese, Italian, and working toward learning American Sign Language to better support non-speaking children and promote inclusive communication.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and discovering new adventures with her children. She also love animals, music, dance, mindfulness, yoga, inspiring movies, and creative hobbies like coloring and nature photography. These joyful moments continually inspire her work and remind her of the beauty in every child’s journey.
