Ana Laura dos Santos Lara
Advocacy and Training Manager
Ana Laura dos Santos Lara joined Parent to Parent of Miami in 2008 as an Education & Support Specialist working with families of young children and focusing on early childhood development. In 2014, she was assigned to work as a Transition Education & Support Specialist (TESS) with Panther LIFE Project and Panther PLUS. In 2015 she was promoted to Transition Manager focusing on young adults with disabilities in the transition process. In 2019 she was promoted to Advocacy and Training Manager Position.
Ana Laura was born in Córdoba, Argentina, studied law and also attended art school. Adding her personal experience as a parent of a child with disabilities to her background as a lawyer, Ana Laura has always been motivated by her passion to ensure parents understand the laws that protect the rights of their children. As a Parent to Parent of Miami representative, Mrs. dos Santos Lara works directly with families to ensure they increase their knowledge, support, and access to resources to reduce the emotional stress that having a child with special needs generate in families. Her work promotes parent involvement and awareness of the needs of children and adults with disabilities, supports the efforts of promoting self-determination, advocacy and independent living skills. Mrs. dos Santos Lara is an experienced presenter, grant writer, and develops curriculum and program manuals to guide, support, and engage families to ensure their loved ones reach their full potential.
